Method of Application

  • Surface Prearation
    • Surface preparation is important. Correct surface preparation helps to achieve proper bonding between substrate and new floor.
    • All surfaces must be clean and structurally sound. The Substrate should be cleaned using a brush to remove any dust or loose particles.
    • The surface of the concrete must be mechanically scarified or must be hacked to at least 70-80% of the total concrete surface. The surface must be divided in equals panels of 2*3 meter to avoid shrinkage cracks.
    • Pre-wetting on concrete at least 5-6 hour before is a must and excess water should be allowed to dry before the application begun.
  • Mixing CRM 300 is simply mixed with water to yield a stiff easily workable compound. The quantity of water depends on the desired consistency but as a guide we recommend 16-17% by weight of CRM 300. Mix with a paddle mixer or trowel for at least 3 minutes to ensure a homogeneous lump free material is achieved. Do not remix the product after losing workability by the addition of more water.
  • Priming Priming is not normally required. Surface to receive CRM 300 should be well saturated with water first.
  • Application
    • Mix and apply CRM 300 to the surface after Anticorrosion treatment if required.
    • Apply the mixed paste/mortar with a steel trowel. It should be allowed to partly set before smoothing.
    • If a very smooth finish is required; a small amount of water may be sprayed on to the surface prior to final smoothing.
  • Curing CRM 300 should be cured with clean water for at least 72 hours (3 days) by spraying twice a day.
  • Precautions
    • Newly installed plaster should be protected from hot, dry winds and excessive ventilation.
    • Do not apply if raining. Protect from rain for 48 hrs after application. Hard or lumpy material must not be used
    • The plaster has to be allowed to dry out completely devoid of any moisture, before applying any kind of stucco finish, paint or wall paper
  • Storage CRM-300 must be protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Store off the ground in a cool and dry place.
