Method of Application

  • Surface preparation
    • Before applying putty the surface should be cleaned with medium size emery stone or wire brush in order to remove loose dust or sand particles. After that the wall should be cleaned with potable water to remove the loose dust and salt of efflorescence.
    • In order to achieve bonding the suction of the background has to be neutralised by splashing clean water, prior to application. However, NO FREE water should remain on the background before applying putty which otherwise may cause debonding.
  • Mixing Add 9-10 ltrs of clean water to 20 kg and mix to homogeneous slurry. Always place some water in the bucket and then add dry mix powder material into it. Mix the material and electrical stirrer to homogeneous paste by adding remaining quantity of water. Allow paste to settle for 5-10minutes. Adjust consistency if necessary and mix thoroughly till uniform (free from bubbles and lumps) paste occurs. Remix and apply with putty blades.
  • Application Apply fresh SP-100 in generous movements using a steel trowel or putty blades, after initial drying the second and third layer can be applied. The final treatment with a trowel should be executed to obtain a fine finishing. After drying and hardening the surface can be grinded with very fine emery paper.
  • Precautions Hard or lumpy material must be not be used.
  • Storage SP 100 must be protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Store off the ground in a cool and dry place.
